Sustainable University
We strive to be a model sustainable university in broad and varied ways, including public education, management of natural resources, energy and building maintenance along with achieving the highest level of fiscal stewardship.
- Sustainability in Three Parts:
- Sustainable Campus: Create supportable operations and management of facilities and environment.
- Sustainable Academy: Establish a “sustainability studies” focus, and engaging communities in a shared understanding of how to foster sustainable communities.
- Sustainable Business Model: Set benchmarks as a foundation toward improving sustainability efforts.
- Technical Excellence: Maintain cutting-edge, reliable and efficient IT systems that align with institutional goals.
- Sense of Place: Integrate “Campus Plan 2035” to create unique spaces around campus.
- Mission-based Entrepreneurship: Develop a broader range of revenue sources.
- Philanthropic Campaign: Engage stakeholders to “make an impact” on Oakland’s future.
